Art Deco Historic District
1001 Ocean Dr, Art Deco Welcome Center, Miami Beach, FL 33139 305-672-2014
In a country filled to what seems like a brimming capacity of "ever-so-similar" suburb type homes and commercial centers, the Art Deco Historic District is a reminder that architecture in the United States can speak for itself. The Art Deco Historic District was created during the early 20th century when the money ran freely (at least for some individuals in the Miami area) and architectural creativity was allowed to run a bit wild. The district is colorful, clean-lined and a representation old-time futurism that has definitely become a solid form of Miami culture.
